I have this friend .... and need advice

Dear Mzama :

I have this friend, well, more someone I just bumped into recently, but there is a chance this person could become a friend. Well here's the deal, my friend, lets call my friend M, wants to do some really good things to help other people but so far M's efforts haven't produced much fruit. M wants to give up. With so many people so self absorbed in the world, we need more people like M to make a differrence - how can I encourage M to not give up ?

Dear John,

Let M know that his/her efforts has not gone unnoticed. Let M know that somethings take time, and if M really wants this then M should be patient and let things happen in it's own due time.

Be sure to let M know that what he/she is doing is a good thing and that we need more people to think the way he/she does. Assure M that once his/her efforts take affect and begin to show progress in this world that the feeling and joy that he/she will get from the progress will make it all worth while in the end.
